Keeping your home free from mice
You'd be surprised to learn just how many mice you can have...
We often hear from homeowners "I only saw one mouse," quickly followed by "but then I saw more." And that can be the complication with mice: they are great at multiplying.
Do the math on mice.
Experts say that under the right conditions (like in your home), mice can breed throughout the year. They also have short gestation periods (18 to 21 days) and females produce litters ranging from small (2) to large (13!). What's more, a female mouse can have more than 6 litters each year, which means they can easily produce 40-60 mice in a given year.
And that's just one female. What about her friends?
Getting rid of mice takes the right mix.
Baiting for mice is really a last-resort option. Trained professionals work to both exclude mice from homes to begin with, and also inspect homes and businesses for ways to keep homes cleaner and food and water less accessible to mice. Traps can often be effective, but without good sanitation and exclusion work, mice are more likely to stick around.
